High Ropes Course
The Santa Barbara Adventure Company's High Ropes Course consists of a series of group initiatives that focus on communication, trust, and problem solving techniques. Through active experimentation, reflection, and application of skills, participants explore the complex and transformative meanings of trust, cooperation, and thinking outside the box, all of which create a unique bonding experience. Throughout this challenge-by-choice program, SBACo's skilled facilitators will guide discussions that clarify correlations between the ropes course and the group's daily environment.

Field Olympics
Get ready to have some fun in this exciting Beach or Field Olympics program. This upbeat and high-energy group oriented challenge, designed for all ages and abilities, will bring out community spirit in all of your team members. A combination of new games and regular favorites begin with an opening ceremony and warm-up exercises followed by team competition in a fun and dynamic program designed to get everyone involved. Teams will earn points while rotating through prearranged stations, ultimately determining who will be the overall Beach or Field Olympics Champion. This program is designed for good-natured competition, but can be altered for a less competitive focus.

Sea Cave Kayaking
This spectacular adventure is an advanced team building challenge set against the backdrop of the Channel Islands National Park. Challenging and exhilarating; your day will include a morning channel crossing, informative beach lesson and amazing sea cave kayaking. Your team will help each other through sea caves, practice self-rescues, and maneuvers through difficult scenarios. This is a great team building program for groups that want to build new levels of leadership and cooperation.

The Great Race
Visit historic sites, beautiful vistas, and the local hot spots as your teams dash through the city of to solve clues, earn points, and complete challenges in the attempt to win this amazing race. This high-energy, 3-hour team building activity fosters innovative thinking, shared leadership, and time management in a blend of competition and collaboration. Along the journey, your group will also learn about the geography and natural and local history of the city of Santa Barbara.

Wine Blending
Our knowledgeable guides will lead your group to a local venue where you'll meet your knowledgeable and fun wine blending facilitators. Wine professionals will introduce the varietals and provide a brief history and context for the region's winemaking while educating the group on tasting techniques. Participants will then work in small teams of 2-3 people to create their own unique blends, using their new knowledge and the varietals before them. This fun and educational experience is perfect for wine lovers, and will leave your team with knowledge & skills to take home!

Get Lost
Participants meet at Elings Park, where friendly and knowledgeable facilitators welcome everyone and give preliminary instructions for the course. The group will be divided into smaller teams and given a map, compass, and a clue to their first challenge station.Once on the trail, each team must complete their team challenge before they orient themselves to the next station along the 3-mile course. The route loops around Santa Barbara’s beloved community park, featuring green sporting fields, shaded groves, and spectacular views of the coastline. While working together to navigate through the course and completing team building challenges, participants will experience the natural beauty of the Santa Barbara outdoors. Throughout this exciting program, skilled facilitators guide discussions that directly address parallels to work, school, and life. Adventure-based learning is a great way to bring your team together!

Geocaching
Send your group on a "High Tech Treasure Hunt." Geocaching is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure that has become widely popular for people of all ages. A geocacher can place a treasure container anywhere in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology, and then share its existence and location online. Anyone with a handheld GPS device can then try to locate the cache. This activity requires teams to use problem solving and technical skills to find a reward, navigating obstacle and terrain impediments along the way. Since the motto behind geocaching is "cache in, trash out", encouraging participants to clean up any trash along the way, this activity also fosters ecological and conservation awareness.
