3. What does a typical workweek look like?
All office staff assists in taking incoming bookings over the phone, which vary in frequency between the summer and winter. The majority of our work consists of fielding inbound communications received through email, phone, and our website, keeping track of new reservations, updating details with partners and vendors, and making changes to the trips we run on a daily basis. Various tasks related to supporting our field staff occur throughout the week such as managing gear, vehicles, or trip materials. Working in our physical office location is required unless otherwise prohibited by local, state, or federal guidelines.
4. What happens during the “off-season” from November-March?
The flow of inbound reservations slows down in the winter and the workday is typically filled with more projects that help us maintain our operations, processes, and equipment to better execute the next coming busy season.
5. Does the Santa Barbara Adventure Company offer health insurance?
Full-time, year-round positions currently include a health insurance stipend.
6. Is there room for upward mobility within the company?
Definitely! We love to promote staff to management-level positions before hiring from outside. For example, our General Manager, Group Sales Manager, Island Manager, Assistant Island Managers, and Environmental Coordinator were all guides prior to becoming managers within our company.
