Santa Barbara offers unsurpassed
options for mountain bikers of all skill levels.
A variety of trails start high above the coastline and provide
an opportunity for a perfect all downhill ride. Another
option includes riding back roads through town while seeing
all the sights. Or you can choose a full day loop that includes
both up- and downhill riding.
Whatever you choose,
the view overlooking the Santa Barbara coastline will provide
the perfect backdrop for your ride. You might also
consider combining mountain biking with other activities.
Our mountain biking and kayaking trip is very popular, as is
as our
unique wine country tour by bike. Seasonal conditions are
great for biking all year round.
We operate on an open calendar,
which means if you meet the minimum number of required participants
(2-4, depending on
the activity)
we can schedule your trip on just about any date. If you're
traveling solo or are otherwise unable to meet the minimum,
we'll do our
best to add you into an existing group. Call us with your
date, preferably at least 24 hours in advance.

Ojai Valley Trail Ride
This ride is a rolling downhill adventure along a well-groomed
trail, starting in the heart of Ojai (a quaint village nestled
in a valley between Lake Casitas and Los Padres National
Forest) and ending at historic Foster Park or the Pacific
Ocean at the Ventura Pier. In places riders will find themselves
tucked behind the ridgeline, lending a sense of solitude
while winding through the magnificent Ventura River Valley.
Total riding distance can be anywhere from 9 to 17 miles.
As a conversion of the 100 year-old railroad line that
served to haul oranges from local orchards to markets around
the world, the Ojai Valley Trail (situated between Highway
33 and the Ventura River) now provides locals and visitors
with an easily accessible and beautiful way to explore the
countryside. Santa Barbara Adventure Company’s knowledgeable
and friendly guides will lead you and your group along the
beautiful and serene Ventura River, possibly stopping for
lunch in Foster Park, and continuing all the way to the
Pacific Ocean.
Your guides will also cover Chaparral and riparian ecology,
edible and medicinal plants as well as natural and human
history along the way. Includes all cycling gear, knowledgeable
guides, discussions on natural and human history, and bottled
waters.
Optional: Wine tasting at Old creek Ranch
Winery (along the way). Charter and food service is additional.
